They are similar, but not the same.

Yesterday, I introduced myself and my company, the Global Creative Community Branding and Marketing Academy Heartbeat Membership to you.

This July 2022 marks my 14th anniversary as a solopreneur working with clients on various writing, editing, publishing, and business coaching projects.

I can’t believe it myself!

This is the 2nd edition of a 5-issue series.

I have learned a lot in these fourteen years, even as I teach others.

The one thing I learned about branding and marketing: they are similar, but they are not the same.

In addition to the scores of creative professionals and small business owners I’ve worked with over the years, I’ve recently written about branding and marketing in my LinkedIn newsletter.

Before that, I wrote articles and newsletters about branding and marketing for years in many different venues.

If there is one thing you should know about the difference between branding and marketing, it is this:

Branding is who you are (your visual identity) and marketing is how you sell your products and services.

You need to learn how to do both effectively and efficiently, and that it is an ongoing process.

Tomorrow I will share with you what I’ve developed to help you learn about branding and marketing for yourself and your creative or solo business, and yes, authors and their book(s) are brands that need to be marketed.

Thank you,

Pam
