I beg to differ. You sound like you have a lot of unnecessary sour grapes about Substack.
Substack is great for creators and it keeps adding more and more valuable functionality.
For any platform you have to "show up and post consistently."
I posted 30 days in a row on Medium, and what was my pay the next month? $4.50.
I make $100s/month on Substack, and I'm a very small publication compared to some of the more famous people.
Just as importantly, I know everyone who subscribes and that email list is mine forever.
In Medium, you have no real way to know who is reading your posts, and for those who do submit their email, the list belongs to Medium.
As far as Notes is concerned, it is not only "another platform," but it is so easy to have real-time and valuable conversations with your readers and with other Substack writers.
If I had to narrow down my social media presence to just two outlets, Notes/Substack would certainly be one of them.
It's too bad you're so negative about Substack and that most of those negative statements are misplaced.
