I am Building a Creative Community: It’s Much More Than My Audience

Building an audience and building a community are two different things. In this newsletter, I explain how I am building both, and why you should too.

I started my full-time solopreneurship journey in 2008, and over the years I grew from one business to three separate but related businesses and a podcast, and I published a book. Solopreneurship was my third career, after many years in education and later many more years in sales and marketing leadership.

After twelve years, in September 2020, I decided to retire from all of my businesses. “Retirement” only lasted about three months!

In the spring of 2021, my husband and I decided to start a new business and podcast including the “best of” my three previous companies. “TeamOwens313” was already the name of our umbrella company that we started in December 2007, so we added “Global Creative Community” to our name.

Those three additional words reflect not only our past experiences working with creative and solo professionals but also our future vision for our new company.
