Hello: I first make money on Substack through paid subscriptions, which are between 10-15% of my free subscribers. I also promote my products and services at the end of my Substack articles, but they are for a niche of my overall subscribers.

I also use ConvertKit, but those subscribers are for my business separate from Substack.

My Substack subscribers are automatic--that's how they get my Substack delivered to their inboxes. I don't have to do anything extra to get those subscribers, but I can see who they are, what articles they read, how often they read, etc.

Also, if I ever leave Substack, I can take those subscribers with me.

Substack just offers so much more than Medium in many areas.
