Evolving My Medium as I Reorganize My Businesses
Change is good when the change is YOUR choice.
I have been a solopreneur since 2008, and I have been on Medium since 2018. During all of those years, I have implemented many changes.
I started with one business in 2008, and by 2017, I grew professionally, adding two more businesses and a podcast, and writing a book.
What I enjoy most about being self-employed is that I can set my own schedule, choose my own clients, work from anywhere at any time, and build my businesses as I see fit.
In September 2020, after 12 years, I retired. I closed all of my businesses, ended the podcast, and finally finished some knitting projects. But “being retired” didn’t last long.
By December 2020, people were asking me to work with them again, and I did start working with three people. Just three. Then in February 2021, my husband decided that we should do a podcast together. People were also still asking me to share my expertise with them and I already had outlines of courses completed. By March 2021, it was obvious that I wasn’t finished with working and in partnership with my husband, I started a new company that incorporated parts of my previous companies and showcased the skills, expertise, and experience of both of us.
